Back in December 2009, I joined an online marketing course and community called “Remarkable Marketing Blueprint” created by Sonia Simone from Rainmaker Digital.
I was pretty new to online marketing at that time, but I had a particular set of technical skills that made people notice me in the community.
Shortly after joining the course I started to share tips about Analytics, SEO or setting up WordPress, and everyone loved that.
They asked me to create a blog and share my knowledge with other people outside the community, and so I did.
This way EugenOprea.com was born.
Fun fact: I started blogging a few months before in 2009 by sharing short articles like the ones Seth Godin writes (huge fan!), but I soon realized that I am not Seth Godin and no one will pay attention to me.
I’ve been working in online marketing for about 9 years now, and I’ve been through every role that a person can have in an online business.
I was involved in planning products and software: from idea to mockups, design, development, content, marketing and launch.
But I’ve also been doing hands-on work like writing (technical copy, website copy, blog posts), doing support, marketing, and launching products.
With my blog, I was able to get some of my articles featured on sites like Moz, Copyblogger, Problogger or Social Media Examiner.
Back in 2011, I decided that it’s time for me to go on my own and since that time I’ve been working remotely 100%. I worked on my products, helped clients and also had part-time gigs with Social Media Examiner and Rainmaker Digital.
I helped Social Media Examiner with Analytics reporting and optimizing articles for search engines before they were published. For Rainmaker Digital I did QA work and customer support.
In 2012 I created and launched a premium WordPress plugin called Elevatr that creates email opt-in forms using point-and-click options (no designers needed).
In 2016 I partnered with the developer that helped me build the plugin, and we started working on a new email marketing software, with the same name, and we launched it in July 2017.
For this project, I come up with the idea, product design, and the roadmap. I created documents which described the required functionality and then translated that into mockups.
I worked closely with designers and developers to make sure that the required functionality is implemented, I tested new features and confirmed them when they were done.
I verified milestones, prioritized development, orchestrated the product launch and executed on that launch. I created the landing page, launch emails and everything that was needed to launch the product.
I’ve been wearing all the hats in an online business in the past years, and that helped better understand how to run one.
I am data driven. I can set up analytics software and then interpret the results. I started my online experience working on a web analytics product.
I know what it takes to get a page to rank on page one in Google, and I always write content with that in mind.
I can set up A/B tests that lead to higher conversion rates, and I am familiar with tools and strategies that can help increase conversions.
Email Marketing is a field that I’ve been working on a lot lately, and I know the ins and outs of acquisition, email content, conversion, and delivery.
I can create Facebook Ads and use that to drive more traffic to a site. One strategy that I like is to drive traffic to blog posts using Facebook ads and then use remarketing on Facebook to get people that visited the site to become email subscribers.
I am not sharing all of this to brag, but to show you that I’ve been involved in every aspect of an online business, I’ve made a lot of mistakes, and I learned from them.
Now it’s time for me to show you what I learned from my mistakes and how you can avoid them.
I want to offer you the “fast-track lane” to success.
